SKILLED & INSPIRATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER

In Person -  Exceeding Expectation

StandPhoto is a small team of specialist stand and corporate event photographers. It is headed and led by Simon (details "In Person" below). Located near to The NEC Birmingham and in London, we cover assignments throughout the UK and internationally. We provide creative photography for stand designers, event organisers and exhibitors at trade shows and exhibitions. We regularly photograph conferences, corporate dinners and awards functions, Royal visits and various other VIP, PR and commercial insustrial assignments.

The portfolio is extensive, as you will see, which includes some of the UK’s largest and most important international trade events annually for a variety of trade bodies and their event organisers.

Fully professional and experienced providing corporate event photography for over 20 years, we are well accustomed to working in the most challenging of assignments. Some can be pretty stressful situations for most other photographers where many might falter.

Discreetness, the appropriate attire and with an array of all the latest and best camera gear for the job, we have instinct for knowing how to quickly and appropriately capture the best images at these assignments.

In Depth

5 foot 10... and I lost most of my hair when I was married at the age of 29...but, thankfully, it didn't all end there! Four kids later and we've now added two puppies.

Born and bred in Birmingham, I have a soft spot for football (my dad and my nan's fault!...lame excuse I know). I love spending time with  the family. Taking my boys to their football matches, watching them play for their clubs, giving them the odd heckle of encouragement at times and applauding the opposition too I must admit. Sometimes I even run the line!

I have a pretty big soft spot for photography, but it wasn't all my fault to begin with. During my mid teens I was coaxed into taking up photography as a hobby, until I realised that other than football, it was all I was really interested in. Hence three years of full-time college study in commercial photography, then four years the apprentice in a commercial advertising studio as the assistant studio photographer.

My break came when I was employed as the senior studio photographer in a firm made up of a team of eleven photographers based in the city centre of Birmingham. Photographing products for advertising and head shots for legal and financial companies in the city centre. The company specialised in photographing corporate events throughout the UK and especially at The NEC. So for the next seven years I was photographing some of the biggest exhibitions and conferences in the UK being held in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Since those early days I have run a successful business in corporate event and commercial photography.

I am most thankful and wish to pay tribute to all the fantastic photographers and individuals who have helped to give me the wealth of experience I have in this industry. I have been truly blessed by their mentoring and friendship over the years.

The StandPhoto Team - For those events that require it, I have a small team of full-time professional event photographers to cover assignments that clash and for when more than one photographer is needed. Every professional photographer's eye is unique and every one of my colleagues is skilled and talented within this profession. So come rain or shine you can be confident that both the images and the service you receive will be of the best quality to be had.

Some of my favourite assignments are when I am let loose with my camera within an unfamiliar environment. I like my work to have a positive outcome on people's lives and the environment.  I want my images to portray the message of success, hope and opportunity.

"To record the beautiful and the sublime is in part at least, to experience it."  Simon Jones.
